“You the rabbi?” asked the surfer. Yep, Hayim Leiter is the rabbi, or studying to be one. He’s also a mohel as well as a surfer dude, since his young teens. Now, he lives in Jerusalem and surfs the coastline near Ashkelon, Tel Aviv and Herzliya. These photos were taken on a recent early winter morning in Tel Aviv, when the surf was up and the waves were filled with avid surfers. When asked if the wait for a 10-second ride gets tedious, Hayim smiled and said, “You have no idea. One second can make your entire week.” Read Holy Surfers.
